D6 Brake Van in 4mm

Post by RossB »

Our next kit to be released will be the Diagram 6 goods brake van.

This is a departure from our usual kits in that it is etched brass rather than resin. Two versions will be available with either narrow or wide paneling.

We hope to have the kits on sale by early December. Prices are £20 to members (CRA and NBRSG) and £24 to non-members.

Further details will available shortly.

Below are some test builds by Lindsay Galloway.

David, we are hoping to have a 7mm version of the Pickering traders wagon for Model Rail Scotland in February although this may be subject to delay.

Expressions of interest have been noted, thank you.

I attach my brake van which I think is similar to the newly introduced kit.
According to my records my model was built forty two years ago from a set of John Boyle etches, which cost me all of £3.
I hope my modelling standards have improved since then!

I also hope that someone can tell me how to get rid of this underlining in my typing.

And I'd like to order one of the narrow panelled versions, please.

I don't see any underlining on your message as it appears on the Forum, Allan.

And your modelling 42 years ago was pretty good.

Finance: when the CRA was formed forty years ago this coming Feb’23, the initial subscriptions were set at £ 4-00 for ordinary members and £ 2-00 for retired persons. The current subscription rate is £ 25-00 for everyone, so I guess that £ 3-00 for the brake van etches all those years ago was comparable to other projects. However, it should be borne in mind that in those days ‘TTL’ was produced using a typewriter, letraset and graphic screened black & white photographs. Today, we can use modern desk-top publishing, along with colour images, which can be ‘sized’ as required.

Changed days!!

Ross
I think I ordered one of these, but would be glad to be reassured.
I don't think, however, that I've paid for it. How do I pay?
I certainly won't be at the Glasgow show, but it might be possible for Chris Gough to get it --- he lives just along the road from me, and will certainly be overseeing Burntisland.

I clearly missed the boat quite badly with these. Are they still available?
