Carlisle on Tuesday August 21 1928

Post by caleyJim »

Maybe a bit out of period for some but can I call your attention to an article of the above title in the Feb 2023 issue of Steam Days? To quote: "Ron Herbert reveals and interprets his father Arthur Herbert's exceptionally detailed notes from a 'Border City' railway excursion". Ten pages in length and illustrated with many fine photos taken by Arthur Herbert the same day I'd say it was worth the cover price.

I ordered this issue from the U.K. While the February issue contains the Pullman article, it does not have the Carlisle article mentioned here. Could anyone clarify which issue of Steam Days has the Carlisle article?

Many thanks

The article wasn't in "Steam Days" - it was in the February 2023 edition of "Steam World". You can get digital back numbers from Pocketmags and possibly other sources.
