Pop In Caledonian Signal box reversed!

Post by Oban1939 »

Greetings all

Just a quick note to add to the recent True Line issue which mentioned the new signal box kit by Pop In, designed by Mr Ross.

I contacted the makers direct re the possibility of a left side box! I am constructing a constant run module for the layout and thought Quintinshill would ideal for a Leith boy.

The result still in the loose build stage is attached, though the photo is not the best it also shows that Mr Ross has indeed amended the brick work.

Apologies for the pdf style, my photos were too large to upload directly.

Kindest

Bill Miller

Good stuff, Bill - and I'm glad someone has at last found a use for the "The Quintinshill Conspiracy."

Best

Hi Bill

Here are a couple of photos of my 7mm efforts-I was really pleased with the kit as indeed you were.
I should have bricked up the locking room windows and have subsequently added another resistor to reduce the glare from the leds
All in all a pretty satisfying kit-nice and concise .Also very good value

Alex

Top stuff! Most impressive.

Have you forwarded photos to Alex and Ian at Pop In?

Great work and the best for 2023 to all.

Thank-you it was a really lovely kit to build-I used plasticard and Redutex to clad it (a bit dear but worth it)
I don't know about Iain but I sent a couple of photos to Pop up for them to use on facebook.

Our next project is Dalmally station building..................much harder!
Trying to establish sizes is difficult and naturally it has been altered a lot down the years. Would be easier if I wasn't 400 odd miles away.
